Splendia was founded in 2004 by Elie de Coignac and Benoit Durand, over some traditional mint tea in a Moroccan riad. Realising that there was more to life than the lure of the east, they decided to put their well-earned cash and expert business knowledge together to form an online booking company dedicated to boutique and luxury hotels. Five years on, Elie and Benoit have swapped the Moroccan mint tea for their customary black coffee.
